Mark got his Real Estate License in October of 1984 passing the exam on his first attempt. At that point in time he was working for a prominent homebuilder learning the trade from the ground up. He was also working for his Father who was a fee independent appraiser after retiring from 35 years of service as Chief Underwriter for the Housing & Urban Development. Mark is the third generation of Wood's to be in Real Estate. His grandfather first had Wood Realty in Salina, Kansas.
During the first years in Real Estate one is required to keep taking courses to continue the license and Mark decided to do this at San Antonio College, studying under Dr. Rosenauer, earning his Associates Degree in Real Estate/Management.
During the recession in the latter '80's Mark continued in his profession by working with Mid-State Trust, a company that financed wood framed constructed houses across the southern states. Responsibilities included appraisals on proposed properties, including Abstract of Title, collecting payments, taxes and insurance. Overseeing foreclosures and selling forclosed properties.
When the market turned around in '91 Mark went to work with another prominent builder in San Antonio doing on site sales, where he won numerous production awards.
Mark was then offered a position oversees to help in sites and acquisitions for a large worldwide company. Naturally he couldn't refuse.
After returning from England, he obtained his Broker's license and started back in general Real Estate. He also partnered up in buying and redoing properties and eventually created McIntyreWood Construction L.L.C..
He was also instrumental in helping another prominent builder in San Antonio create a Build On Your Lot program. Which is now very successful. He also helped other builders market and sell their properties in San Antonio and the surrounding hill country.
Mark started his own company in May of 2003 and is determined to establish a successful and reliable Real Estate Company that cares about it's clients.
